The Survival of Survival Horror

When it comes to pacing and combat, Resident Evil 5 is being compared to Dead Space, as opposed to its previous peers, Silent Hill, Clocktower, and Siren. This is understandable: Resident Evil 5 is joining Dead Space in a new quadrant of the survival horror genre. These games are akin to survival horror in their look and style, and sometimes in the trappings of their stories, but when it comes to gameplay, they are faster paced, and emphasize tighter controls and tactical decision-making, not the ability to use as few bullets as possible on hard-to-hit monstrosities.free psp game The reasons for these gameplay changes have been carefully examined by designers and gamers alike

GameStop doesn't see recession's impact on gamers

ameStop's senior vice president of merchandising, free psp games Bob McKenzie, doesn't think the recession has had much impact on gamers. Speaking with Venture Beat during the Resident Evil 5 launch event in San Fransisco, McKenzie said people are staying in more often (presumably awaiting further financial ruin) and turn to video games and other entertainment to pass the time.

But has GameStop seen a spike in the lucrative -- yet free psp games controversial -- used game market since the recession? McKenzie wouldn't say "yes," but quickly pointed out that gamers today are even more aware about "tightening their wallets." Even though traffic at retail has slowed, McKenzie reiterrated that GameStop continues to post solid numbers -- recently reporting a 24 percent increase in year-over-year sales to $8.8 billion.

Unfortunately, the rest of the industry free psp games isn't fairing as well. Perhaps video game publishers should get into the used game market. As long as they vow to keep all of the profit for themselves they should be able to dig themselves out of this whole "economic apocalypse" thing.

Lockdown Pack 2

The various Lockdown applications were getting out of hand so from this update I've consolidated them into a single Pack.

========================= =================

Lockdown Pack 2 Changelog

========================= =================

Lockdown XMB Style updated to v4.1

------------------------------------------

Fixed a critical bug where a new installation of Lockdown XMB Style would hang after entering a new password for the first time.

Lockdown unchanged at v4.0

Lockdown In-Game unchanged at v2.0

Lockdown allows you to password protect your psp games from prying eyes.

You can also protect the Recovery Menu so that the protection can't be bypassed at all.

Lockdown XMB Style uses the XMB Wave as the background, and is only for the psp games  Slim.

Big time thanks to Dark_Alex for his VLF library, without which Lockdown XMB Style would have been impossible. Also thanks for adding the Plugins Disable feature in 5.00M33-2

Lockdown In-Game will require you to enter a password when you resume your psp games  from suspend mode. Useful to prevent other people from messing up your progress if you put the in suspend during a game.

intraFont 0.31 - smaller and better

intraFont 0.31 is out

With this update it's possible to print a free psp game string with characters that are stored in different font files. I.e. you can mix latin, japanese, chinese, korean and symbol characters as you like. This is done by setting an alternative font with intraFontSetAltFont(). The alternative font is used in case the main font does not contain a certain glyph. (If you want to mix more than two fonts: you can set another alternative font for the alternative font and so on...)

intraFont 0.31 is also smaller than previous free psp game  versions: libccc (the character code conversion library used by intraFont) is now able to decompress and use the firmwares own character code conversion tables. Decompression is done with the help of libLZR 0.11, which was released yesterday.

Finally, intraFont 0.31 fixes free psp game a bug in intraFontMeasureTextUCS2( ) that was introduced in version 0.30.
