April 3, 2009 - Marvelous Entertainment's psp games announcement last week of Valhalla Knights 2: Battle Stance was just a bit on the mysterious side, with no solid details on the Game. Those details came today with a major update to the game's official site and a few new screenshots.
Battle Stance offers up some major differences to Valhalla Knights 2. Most notably, the game has a new battle system, known as the "Active Action Battle" system. As part of this system, the battle party count has been dropped from six to four, and you can now team all your characters together for a simultaneous attack.
Outside of battle, you'll find some neat little features that make the game more user friendly. Gate Crystals can now be found around the world and help you instantly transport to past regions of play. The game also has improved status screens and an psp games updated tutorial mode.
In terms of content, there's plenty new on offer, it seems, including over 40 new items and weapons, new boss-level beasts, and a variety of quests. There's also a gallery mode which links up to parts 1 and 2 of the series and unlocks movies as you progress through those titles.
All these updates are being made available for a pseudo budget price point of 3,990 yen (most psp games in Japan cost about 1,000 yen more). We're not sure if this game has a chance of American release, so importers looking for an RPG experience on the PSP should check with their favorite sources on June 25.
Just a few weeks ago, IGN put together a list of merchandise we wanted to celebrate the coming release of Patapon 2 . Apparently, Sony was listening. Upon entering the PlayStation Blog Lounge at GDC, the IGN PlayStation Team was showered Patapon psp games plushies and Patapon figurines/key chains.
All of our dreams are coming true.
All Sony will say is that the products are "prototypes," so don't start scouring the interwebs for preorder information just yet. If that changes, we'll let you know, but until then, check out some sweet -- but dark -- pictures.
UK, April 6, 2009 - Following relentless internet chatter, Konami has finally confirmed the existence of its Silent Hill reimagining, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories , scheduled to release on Wii, PS2 and PSP this autumn.
Developed by Climax UK, the team responsible for the diminutive Silent Hill: Origins on PSP, Shattered Memories shares basic plot elements with Team Silent's classic original PlayStation survival horror outing. Once more, you fill the shoes of protagonist Harry Mason as he searches the fog-shrouded - and apparently now snowy - streets of Silent Hill in a bid to locate his missing daughter Cheryl.
